PRP Creative Sport created and produced a spectacular celebration to honour the thousands of young Jewish athletes and coaches who traveled around the world to participate in the 2006 Maccabi Games. The enthralling event featured many youth performers, a collaborative dance performance featuring Israel’s Hora Goel and Vancouver’s Or Chadash, the Jewish Men’s Choir and traditional shofar blowers.

Beginning with an athlete’s parade of the 42 delegations from Australia, Great Britain, Mexico, Israel, United States and Canada, the Opening Ceremonies only continued to build excitement and goodwill as it kicked off a week of Olympic-style competition in 12 different sports. Hosted by former Citytv anchor and sports director Shane Foxman, the evening featured remarkable singing and dancing performances and delivered a poignant message about how the community has remained strong despite its past and recent adversities.

The JCC Maccabi Games promote community involvement, teamwork, and pride in being Jewish. The Games are the largest Jewish teen event in the world – each summer over 6,000 Jewish teens participate in the Games. The energy and excitement make it a unique and unforgettable experience for every participant, from athletes to volunteers, to coaches and Host families.
