In November 2005, PRP had the honour of producing the 93rd annual Grey Cup parade, the official kick-off celebration for the Canadian Football League (CFL) championship game, Canada’s largest sporting event.

Working with Parade Committee Chair Phil Reimer, PRP created a huge, splashy parade that fully engaged the community, brought attention to the Grey Cup and made it a very special event.

Fans were treated to a spectacular fly-pass by four CF-18 fighter jets, dozens of floats and British Columbia born Pamela Anderson, whose career began when she was discovered at a CFL game in Vancouver many years ago. Almost 6,000 participants took part in the parade, ranging from CFL cheerleading teams to the 100-strong marching band from Chilliwack lead by legendary Vancouver bandleader Dal Richards. The Governor General of Canada was also on hand for the celebration, the first time in 15 years a Governor General has attended a Grey Cup parade.

PRP production managed the parade operations, developed and refined the theme of the parade, liaised with the TV team, sponsors and media partners, helped recruit and select parade elements, oversaw the set up of the parade route and areas, ran the VIP area and managed parade participants, volunteers and subcontractors.

The Grey Cup parade was broadcast live regionally and was broadcast nationally across the country for the first time in 10 years. An estimated 100,000 spectators lined the streets of Vancouver. It was, as reported repeatedly throughout the media, “awesome”.
