Celebrate Canada

In March 2003, PRP was challenged by the 2010 Olympic Bid Corporation to create a multicultural yet uniquely Canadian show worthy to present to the International Olympics Committee (IOC) Delegates on their evaluation visit to Vancouver. This would be the only entertainment the IOC would witness on this tour, making it all the more significant. The impressions they formed from the show would ultimately affect their final vote as to which city would be awarded the honor of hosting the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

PRP quickly assembled a highly skilled production team, coordinating all elements of the show from stage design and lighting to the cast of over 500 performers including Ballet BC, Cirque du Soleil and David Foster. As well as production and cast management, PRP also provided stage management and live show direction.

The result was a captivating experience that had the IOC delegates, government officials, media and audience cheering with multiple standing ovations.

PRP proved our ability to turn our client’s vision into reality. We proved our ability to work well under pressure, working within multiple layers of government, corporate and community stakeholders. We proved our ability to plan and manage spectacular, world-class, uniquely Canadian celebrations. Most importantly, PRP helped create an event that showcased and proved Vancouver’s ability to produce and host an event as large and important as the 2010 Olympics. PRP is proud to have played a part in Vancouver’s successful bid.
