With PRP's sister company Creative Sport Productions – PRP produced the opening ceremony of the 2007 Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, Yukon, celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Canada Games.
"The Legacy for us are the new friends we have made across Canada's North, we were thrilled to work with the local organizing committee, local artistic team David Petkovich and Kristina Mercs, and the hundreds of volunteers, artists and staff that made the event possible in Whitehorse" said Patrick Roberge, Producer of the Opening Ceremony.
Canada's North has so many stories to tell and we were very pleased to share some of those stories with the rest of Canada during the Opening Ceremony.
The Opening Ceremony included hundreds of performers from across all three Pan Northern Canadian Territories. From Hip Hop dance, mascot riding ATV's, Inuit throat singing, Canadian Icons the RCMP and the Canadian Rangers, blanket tossing, snow mobiles, dog sledding and musical artists from all regions of Canada's North – the opening ceremony was a celebration of the great stories unique only to Canada's north.
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper Officially Opened the games, which brought together Canadian athletes, coaches, staff, and volunteers to the largest event ever held north of the 60th parallel.
Yukon Premier Dennis Fentie, Nunavut Premier Paul Okalik and Northwest Territories Premier Joe Handley, also took to the podium to praise organizers and participants.
