PRP Creative Events was pleased to welcome members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to the Opening Ceremony of the 122nd Session of the IOC. Staged at the newly renovated Queen Elizabeth Theatre, IOC members and special guests were treated to a true Canadian youth welcome.
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the IOC’s flag, an iconic symbol that represents the continents of the world with five interlocking rings, PRP programmed a cultural celebration with recognition to the blue, yellow, black, green and red rings of the IOC flag.
Mayor of the Host City of Vancouver, Gregor Robertson and Premier of the Host Province of British Columbia, Gordon Campbell opened the show with a welcome to the IOC delegates, who came from around the world.
In attendance, the Governor General of Canada, Michaëlle Jean, the President of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge and over 2000 guests were treated to featured entertainment that included:
