PRP Triumphant at BC Event Awards - Nominated for CEIA Star Awards
October 21, 2009

Vancouver BC

Canadian Event Perspective and The BC Event Idustry Assocation have recognized Patrick Roberge Productions Inc (PRP) with two BC Event Industry Awards for the original entertainment productions COUNTDOWN 2010 and KABOOM!  Both productions are now nominated for a Canadian Event Industry Association Star Award.

Awarded Outstanding Event Over $100 000, COUNTDOWN 2010 was a nationally broadcast event to celebrate the one-year mark to the start of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.  Produced for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games (VANOC) and staged at the Richmond Olympic Oval, with a cast of more than 450 performers, COUNTDOWN 2010’s emotional blend of theatre and sport epitomized the spirit and unity of the Olympics – a true celebration for all Canadians.

Awarded Outstanding Logistical Achievement, KABOOM! was a customed-developed nighttime pyrotechnic musical finale for longtime PRP client, the Pacific National Exhibition’s (PNE) 99th Annual Fair. With state of the art lighting and projections, mega video walls, live cast, spectacular pyrotechnics and a dynamic soundtrack, KABOOM! was the first outdoor program at the PNE capable of performance in all weather conditions.  Featuring a choreographed cast of 50 and a crew of 15, this nighttime pyrotechnic musical spectacular attracted more than 93, 500 viewers during its 17-day run.

PRP was also nominated for Best Entertainment Production for KABOOM!

The BC Event Industry Awards is a regional awards program recognizing outstanding achievements in special events, meeting management, conference planning and exhibition management. Winners will automatically move on to the CEIA Star Awards.  The 13th Annual Star Awards Gala will take place on March 26th in Toronto.
