PRP Celebrates Monopoly, Here & Now
August 20, 2008

Vancouver, BC

PRP Corporate Productions, in conjunction with Karyo Edelman, was thrilled to offer local Vancouver residents & media, a sneak peak of the latest edition of everyone’s favourite game; Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition.

Earlier this year, over 5 million Monopoly fans, participated in an online contest to cast their votes for the 22 greatest cities in the world.  Today’s public launch, which was produced by PRP, revealed which cities made it to the board

To celebrate the inclusion of the City of Vancouver in the World Edition, PRP hosted a fun & interactive gaming event for Monopoly fans of all ages. Situated onsite at the Pacific National Exhibition, during their annual Fair, media & fairgoers were treated to a life-sized replica of the new game board.  Attendees were invited to play the game and to travel the world with their Monopoly Passport.  At eight designated cities, cultural icons, which included a London Palace Guard, a Parisian Mime and a Gdynian Polisher Dancer greeted players.

Vancouver City Councilor Suzanne Anton, and Mr. Monopoly, himself, were on hand to present one lucky player with a trip to any city represented on the board, courtesy of Expedia.

This was an incredibly fun event to produce,” said PRP’s Director of Corporate Development, Anna Bond. “As someone who spent countless hours playing Monopoly, growing up, it’s great to be part of such an important milestone in the game’s history."
