Twenty-five years ago, Terry Fox became famous for his Marathon of Hope, a cross-Canada run to raise money for cancer research (running with only one leg). He is considered one of Canada's greatest heroes of the 20th Century.
In September 2005, PRP was honored to work with the Terry Fox Foundation and CBC to help commemorate the 25th anniversary of Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope.
3.3 million students at 10,000 schools across Canada ran or walked to raise funds for cancer research in a coast-to-coast, simultaneous Terry Fox Run.
PRP helped build a captivating, emotionally-charged nationally broadcast program called "25 Years of Hope: The Legacy of Terry Fox" to celebrate Terry's life and legacy. This 2-hour prime-time show featured highlights of the Terry Fox National School Run, the unveiling of the Terry Fox monument at Mile 0 and a taped live performance of "Open Road" by Canadian rock star Bryan Adams.
