PRP Rocks out the Summer Nights for the PNE FAIR 100th Anniversary

With Summer fun in full swing, PRP is gearing up for the huge party at the 100th Annual Fair at the PNE. To celebrate this milestone of 100 Year's of Fun, PRP is presenting two extraordinary events and an exciting 17-day concert lineup sure to keep you singing and dancing long into the summer nights.
The night before the Fair opens, PRP will present The 100th Anniversary PNE Parade at 7:00pm on Friday, August 20th. The one-time special event will see 100 years of PNE magic travel along the picturesque Beach Avenue in English Bay from Stanley Park to Sunset Beach. Part of the city-wide celebration of the 2010 PNE, this parade will be unlike anything ever seen in Vancouver Featuring giant parade balloons, similar to those seen in famous parades around the world like the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, and a cast of more than 2000 performers, PRP will get the party started for the Fair's 100th Anniversary.
On Opening Day, PRP is excited to continue the PNE's 100th Celebration with International music superstar Bryan Adams - back in his hometown of Vancouver for a special concert at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 21st at the newly constructed Empire Field Stadium. Joining Bryan Adams will be the signature band of summertime, The Beach Boys.
This year's Summer Night Concerts are not to be missed! From the classic rock of Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, and the country beats of Terri Clark, to the smooth melodies of Michael Bolton, there is a musical performer for everyone. Don't miss pop sensation Cyndi Lauper, and legendary icons Los Lobos and Little River Band as they fill the fairgrounds with their timeless hits. Or, take in "Mr. Las Vegas", Wayne Newton as he serenades the crowd. Looking for a little more rock ‘n roll, check out Huey Lewis & The News, and Kevin Costner & Modern West. Remember to join local favourites Trooper, Spirit of the West and Marianas Trench as they celebrate the Best of BC.
For the younger generation, PRP will bring all the hottest acts to the afternoon Concert Stage with KC's Concerts. Featuring Shrek and Fiona from Shrek - Stompin' the Swamp, the Backyardigans and returning favourites Doodlebops and from Treehouse, Bobs & LoLo.
A staple to Western Canada, the Fair at the PNE is truly the best part of summer. Don't miss it.
