The Host Society for the 2011 Halifax Canada Winter Games today named Patrick Roberge Productions Inc. (PRP) as the producer for their Opening & Closing Ceremonies.
Fresh from producing the critically acclaimed Opening & Closing Ceremonies for the X Paralympic Winter Games, PRP is excited to be producing another Canadian Sports Ceremony.
Having previously worked with the Canada Games to produce the Opening & Closing Ceremonies of the 2007 Whitehorse Winter Games and the 1989 Saskatoon Summer Games, PRP look forwards to working in Halifax and embracing the Atlantic Canadian community for two spectacular ceremonies.
Earlier this year, PRP received accolades for their community involvement in producing the Opening & Closing Ceremonies of the X Paralympic Games. With a motto of "All Ages, All Abilities," PRP cast more than 5000 roles in the ceremonies with performers ranging from six to ninety-two years of age. PRP aims to carry on that community involvement to the Canada Games.
"We are committed to creating a large-scale community event that will celebrate youth, culture, and sport while capturing the spirit and unique traits of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Canada," said Creative Director and President Patrick Roberge.
The Nationally broadcast Canada Games ceremonies will take place in the Halifax Metro Centre with the Opening Ceremony on Friday, Feburary 11th and the Closing Ceremonies on Sunday, February 27th. Tickets will go on sale later this year.
